A jury in a London, Ontario court on Thursday heard the horrific acts of a couple accused of physically and sexually abusing their children. The witness, who has not been named, testified about the abuse she suffered over several years, saying both her parents had sex with them. "I gave up, I became depressed, I gained a lot of weight," the witness said. "I was raped by my father once a month."

She told the jury that the children were not allowed to go out alone, my mother did not want me to be in a place where I could tell people about these things and what was going on in our house, she would beat us. The children were raped. They had sex and sometimes tied their hands and feet to the chair with tape. My siblings and I were treated like trash.

The mother and father, who are both in their fifties, face a total of 47 charges, including rape, forced imprisonment, adultery and failure to provide for living expenses. The alleged events took place between 2003 and 2020, but both defendants have pleaded not guilty.
