On Monday, February 20, 2024, a traffic accident on Highway 17 claimed the life of a 29-year-old woman from Ottawa, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported.

The accident happened around 12:30 am near Mattawa city. According to police, a car was traveling southbound when it suddenly veered off its path and hit a tree.

The 29-year-old woman who was driving the car died instantly. His identity has not yet been revealed.

The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
