A Windsor police inspector has been accused of misconduct
A Windsor police inspector has been charged with misconduct under the Ontario Police Services Act.
Insp. Ed Armstrong is accused of acting in a manner likely to bring disrepute and undermine public confidence in the Windsor Police Service, according to a news release issued Wednesday.
Allegations of misconduct came to light last year, and Peel Regional Police were subsequently asked to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure a transparent and impartial process, police said.
Armstrong, a member of the Windsor Police Service since 1998, has been reassigned pending the outcome of the PSA process.
As the matter is now before the courts, the Windsor Police Service will not be releasing any further comment or information at this time.
