Courageous rescue of crew and passengers in remote N.W.T.
On June 24, 2023, a small plane with six people on board crashed in a remote area of northwestern Canada. The plane was flying from the small town of Inuvik to the town of Okonauk, which is located near the North Pole. The crew and passengers of the plane included four men, a woman and a young child. All of them survived, but some were seriously injured. Rescuing the crew and passengers was a dangerous operation. The plane had crashed in a remote and virgin area. The weather was also very cold and unfavorable.
However, rescue teams from across northwestern Canada were dispatched to the crash site. These teams included the Canadian Armed Forces, fire brigades and local rescue groups. The teams reached the crash site using helicopters and small planes. They then began to evacuate the crew and passengers. The rescue operation took several hours. Eventually, all six people were rescued and taken to the hospital. Now that the crew and passengers are recovering, they are thanking rescue teams for saving their lives.
