Heavy snowfall expected to continue in Calgary
After enjoying a month of above-season temperatures, Calgarians are starting to remember winter and all the cold temperatures and slippery roads.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) extended its snow warning for the city and several other communities Thursday morning.
In the bulletin, issued at 5:38 a.m., the agency said Calgary was expected to receive about 10 centimeters of snow during the day.
Heavier accumulations are possible, with totals of up to 20cm expected, the ECCC said.
Driverrs were reminded to take precautions, such as adjusting their speed to conditions, watching out for other drivers and being prepared to stop at any time.
ECCC says the snow is expected to stop by Thursday evening.
