Lighting of Western Canada's tallest Christmas tree during the holiday season in Vancouver
The ceremony to light the tallest Christmas tree in Western Canada will be held in Vancouver. The event, which will be held on Dec. 1 at the Shixwank Square in Ixotel Inc., is open to everyone and will feature the lighting of Western Canada's tallest Christmas tree at 76 feet. More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the festival and watch it live on TV.
The festival, presented by construction company Amacon, will include live entertainment, photo opportunities and free giveaways. There are also rumors about the presence of Santa Claus. In addition, the event will feature a buy-the-bulb initiative to support charities such as the British Columbia Children's Hospital and the Vancouver International Children's Festival.
