A Guelph painter is hoping for more recognition after being elected to the Canadian Artists Association.

Mary Dawn Roberts was elected to the Society in June. He has been painting with oil, acrylic and watercolor for more than 40 years.

Roberts couldn't hide his emotions when he learned that his name had been added to the forum.

"I was really happy about that," Roberts said. "Excited, confirmed. There are so many things and so many opportunities to be part of this community that it's worth the effort."
