One person died and 63 cases of salmonella infection due to consumption of cantaloupe
On Nov. 24, it updated its warning and also issued a recall for Rudy's brand cantaloupes sold between Oct. 10 and Nov. 24. These cantaloupes are distributed across the country, and according to the organization, cases of salmonella infection have been identified so far in five provinces, including Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island.
Public Health Canada has announced that one person has died following an outbreak of salmonella infection linked to Malichita and Rudy brand cantaloupes. Also, 63 cases of salmonella infection have been announced and seventeen people have been admitted to the hospital.
The agency issued three recalls in November for Malichita brand cantaloupes sold between Oct. 11 and Nov. 14.
US health officials also announced that two people have died and 45 people have been hospitalized across the country due to the outbreak.
