Traffic cameras recorded an average of 627 speeding violations per day on Ottawa roads in October, as an array of road cameras continue to detect speeders in school zones and community safety zones.

Ottawa's 28 photo radar cameras issued 19,445 speeding tickets in October, new statistics show.

The busiest camera was on Cedarview Road in Barrhaven, where 2,586 speeding tickets were issued in 31 days in October.

The camera on St Laurent Boulevard, between Noranda Street and Clark Street, caught 2,152 speeding drivers in October, while the camera on Fisher Street, between Deer Park Road and Kintyre Private, issued 1,654 tickets during the month.
