Trudeau says he's 'proud of Canadians' in video posted on his last full day in office
In a 30-second video on social media, X addressed the nation. In the message, he expressed his pride in serving a people who stand for the truth, are accountable in every situation, and support each other in moments that matter.
Trudeau stressed that although this is his last day as prime minister, he will always “remain boldly and unapologetically Canadian,” and hoped that citizens “will remain the same,” no matter what the world throws at them.
Liberal Party leader Mark Carney will be sworn in as Canada’s 24th prime minister on Friday at Rideau Hall in Ottawa. Trudeau, who has been in office for more than nine years, will not run in the next election in his Montreal riding.
