Two teenagers were killed on Monday night after being hit by the UP Express train west of Toronto.

Emergency crews were called to reports of a train hitting a person west of the Bloor GO station, near West Eglinton Avenue and Weston Road, around 10 p.m. The police later announced that a second victim was also found in the incident. Both of them (a teenage boy and a teenage girl) were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators are still trying to determine why the two men were on the train when they collided, but a source said it appeared to be a case of "bad luck". As a result of the collision, Up Express service was suspended Monday night and Go Transit was forced to deploy shuttle buses between Union and North Etobicoke stations.

"Up Express" and "Go Transit" services resumed on Tuesday morning.
