Unsettled winter weather is headed for Ottawa this weekend
Ottawa could turn into a winter wonderland this time tomorrow, with significant snowfall expected.
Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the city, saying the combination of rain could make travel hazardous.
"Rapid accumulation of snow can make travel difficult in some areas. Surfaces such as highways, roads, sidewalks and parking lots become icy, slippery and dangerous. Ice accumulation may cause tree branches to snap. Postpone non-essential travel until conditions improve. " says the warning.
A previous snowfall warning issued on Saturday called for between 15 and 20cm of snow between Sunday and Monday, with rapid accumulation of 2-3cm per hour overnight.
