A Canadian man with a criminal record in his home country has been killed in a shooting at a shopping mall in the Caribbean beach resort of Cancun, Mexican authorities said. Prosecutors in the coastal state of Quintana Roo did not release the man's name. They said the shooting happened at a gym inside the mall. They said he had been convicted of gang-related offenses in Canada, including possession of illegal assets.
Global Affairs Canada did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
